On February 4th Safe Steps was honored to receive the Bionow Product of the Year award for our work on Falls Prevention.  They have described our product as an “intelligent and intuitive digital system which helps save staff time, reduce manual data reporting and improve patient safety”.

Safe Steps is currently the world's most successful Falls Prevention app.  We are live in over 434 care homes, with outcomes indicating a 31% reduction in falls and a 20% reduction in ambulance callouts within the first 15 months of use.  We are immensely proud of our product, and of our partnership with Bionow.

Bionow is a membership organisation for the biomedical and life-sciences industry in the North of England. They are experts in bringing members of the Biomedical and Life Sciences Sector together.  One of the aims of Bionow is to highlight the potential of biomedical businesses and make them more competitive.  In doing so they offer a wide range of support services to their members to enable the full potential of a business.

At this year’s digital ceremony Bionow honoured leading life science companies, academic and healthcare organisations as well as those individuals who dedicate their talents to this world beating sector.  This was the 19th ceremony held by Bionow to recognise the outstanding success and achievements of those who have worked tirelessly during the past year, a year of great upheaval for all in the medical sector.

Geoff Davison, CEO of Bionow, said: “Given the situation we are all in, the work undertaken by all our winners and nominees in the past year has been truly inspiring. I think this once again showcases the North and the UK as truly world leading and the place to pioneer, develop and launch new products, treatments and technologies. Despite the disruption and uncertainty, the life science sector has found a way to continue to make a difference and improve lives around the world.”

At Safe Steps we would like to take this opportunity to thank Bionow for this honour, and to congratulate the full list of winners, for without competition we will never progress. Thank you Bionow, and congratulations colleagues!
